| Shopped around for the best rate on a $1,218,750 loan with 0 points. Was given a good faith estimate as well as a rate lock (provident funding) from Mr. Scheetz (aka "The Home Loan Source, Inc") for 6.125% w/ 0 points or origination fees. Closing was scheduled for 1/26/07. Received a call from Mr. Scheetz that closing is delayed until 1/29/07 and I rearranged my schedule to accommodate. On 1/28/07 in the evening (before closing) I receive a call stating that they have to add on 5/8 points ($7617), even though I was given a rate lock for 6.125% and 0 points. At the risk of losing the transaction, I had to go ahead with the closing. Mr. Scheetz will not offer any remuneration. | |||
